The Rabbi Search Committee is delighted to welcome our first Rabbi candidate, Rabbi Daniel Graber, as guest Rabbi for the Shabbat weekend of January 20-22 . We hope you can join us during the weekend to meet and observe Rabbi Graber. Rabbi Graber’s biography is included below.

Schedule of Events

  • Friday night, January 20, 2023, 5:30pm – Kabbalat Shabbat services in the Sanctuary – Rabbi Graber will be teaching Torah between Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv.
  • Saturday morning, January 21, 2023, 9:00am Shabbat morning services in the Sanctuary – Rabbi Graber will be officiating as Rabbi for the services and giving the sermon.
  • Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2023, 12:00pm Shabbat Congregational Kiddush Luncheon in the Heller BallroomAll congregants are invited and there is no charge
  • Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2023, 1:15pmRemarks by Rabbi Graber followed by Shabbat Mincha lead by Rabbi Graber in the Sanctuary.
  • Sunday morning, January 22, 2023, 9:00amAll Religious School parents are invited to a Bagels and Shmear Meet and Greet with Rabbi Graber in the Heller Ballroom.

Each of these events other than the Kiddush luncheon and Bagels and Shmear will be available via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. The Zoom link is on the FHJC website.

At the end of the weekend, we request that each member above Bar or Bat Mitzvah age fill out a brief survey giving us your impressions of Rabbi Graber. This survey link will be distributed via email on Sunday afternoon, January 22, and will be available until candle lighting on Friday, January 26.
