| Men's Club Annual Meeting & Breakfast Sunday June 8, 9:30am in the Crystal Room, following the 8:20am minyan At this Annual Breakfast Meeting we will be approving a slate of new officers, discussing events and future projects for next year. We look forward to welcoming new and prospective members and their productive involvement in the Men’s Club. The breakfast is free to paidup members, and those who join that morning. | Open House for Prospective New Members Sunday June 8, 10am to Noon Invite your friends and neighbors to take a tour of our beautiful Synagogue/ Center and learn about everything it has to offer! Meet the people who will take you on the tour of our marvelous facilities. Visit our award-winning Nursery and Kindergarten! See our Religious School (a “Framework of Excellence” school) Enjoy a light breakfast! They can also say ‘Hello’ at the FHJC booth at the Austin Street Fair! We’ll be there to greet them from 10am to 3pm. The Forest Hills Jewish Center is the heartbeat of the Jewish community of Forest Hills. | A "Taste of Me'ah" - sample class & information session Wednesday June 11, 7:30pm at the Reform Temple of Forest Hills The Me'ah Program offers 100 hours of learning during an intensive two year study program covering Jewish texts, ideas and history. This is an exciting and free opportunity to see if Me’ah is right for you. There will be ample time after the class to ask questions about the Me’ah program including topics covered, schedule of courses, and tuition. This program is a Forest Hills Jewish Center-Reform Temple of Forest Hills - Hillcrest Jewish Center collaborative venture. Reservations are suggested. | Friday Night Havurah Friday June 20, 7:30pm, in room M4 Bring your whole family to shul and let’s begin Shabbat as a community. No one is too old or too young to be with us. Join us for warm and spirited lay-led Kabbalat Shabbat Service followed by a small Oneg. Transliterations are available for most parts of the service that are sung aloud. If you would like to find out more about the service, are interested in leading part of the davening, teaching a melody, sharing a few thoughts on the parsha, contact the Center Office, or Ira Beer. |

| Knitting Group Tuesdays July 8, 15, 22, 29 & August 5, 12, 19 in the Library immediately following the 7:30pm minyan This Summer, we want to keep you in "stitches." Calling all knitters, crocheters, needlepointers, and the like to spend some pleasant, informal evenings together. Join other yarn-o-philes this summer as we stitch and…stitch some more. Share a pattern, discover a new technique, or learn the how-to's of needlecraft while we spend a relaxing summer night together. What an excuse to schmooze! You need no reservations, just come. | Rabbi’s Summer Forum Mondays July 7, 14 & 21, following the 7:30pm minyan. Rabbi Skolnik’s informal discussions on summer Monday nights, has been a favorite program that is eagerly anticipated and enjoyed by so many. These sessions are not lectures and there is no set agenda. You bring the questions, relative to current events affecting the Jewish communities and the discussion ensues. |
| Friday Night Havurah & Picnic Dinner Friday July 18, Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma’ariv – 6pm followed by a Deli Buffet (by reservation only) Join us for Davening, Dining, Divrei Torah & a Delightful Evening with Friends. Don’t forget to bring a picnic blanket! Please note earlier time! Help make this night enjoyable for all by: Coming and participating in the davening (transliterations available,) singing of Shabbat songs at our dinner under the stars and sharing a few thoughts of Torah with friends. | Men's Club Annual Family Fishing Trip Sunday August 24 (please note date change) Captain Lou's Fishing Charter in Freeport, Long Island If you attended last year, you know what fun it was! If this will be your first time, you are in for a fun-filled outing. On this half day charter, all fishing supplies are provided, and you provide your own food. The Men's Club will be providing water and beer! Bring your family! Bring your friends and, of course, women and children are included. $10 deposit per person required by June 15. If we have 50 reservations, we can have our own private charter. We can accommodate up to 70-75 participants. |
